Act 10:9. Δῶμα, the house-top) The house of the tanner had no ὑπερῷον, upper room.-προσεὑξασθαι, to pray) The time before dinner or supper (Act 10:3) is seasonable for prayer.-ἕκτην, the sixth) dinner hour, and, before it, the hour of prayer: Psa 55:17, “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray.” Unawares (not expecting it) he meets with so great a revelation.
