This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

Act 13:42. Ἐξιόντων) Many Jews who refused to hear Paul went out before the time: see the foll. verse. Comp. ch. Act 28:25; Act 28:29.-παρεκάλυν0 besought, in contrast with what the Jews did.-εἰς τὸ μεταξὺ σάββατον, on the following Sabbath) μεταξὺ is an adverbial denoting the Sabbath that intervened between the rest of the days which Paul and Barnabas were about to spend at Antioch; and that was the seasonable time for discussing the same matters (“these words”). The proper notion of the Sabbath [as distinguished from its use to express a week] is to be retained, as long as the case admits of it.
