The people were in crowds in the temple: Paul did not congregate together the crowd [ποιεῖν ἐπισύστασιν, to excite a concourse of people].-συναγωγαῖς, in the synagogues) of Jerusalem, ch. Act 26:11.-κατὰ τὴν πόλιν, in the city) Jerusalem, Act 24:11 : κατὰ, when followed by the article, has not the distributive force (city by city).
