Οὗτος, this) This is a [triumphal] verse, or formula of words, and hymn, which has in it somewhat of rhythm, and seems to have been often repeated; see Luk 15:32 : it was accompanied with symphony (‘music’), Luk 15:25. The ancients used verse when strongly affected. See Gen 37:33; 1 Chronicles 13 (12):18, [which are in the Hebraic form of poetry, parallelism.]
