Luk 22:25. Εὐεργέται) Aristotle, Eth. i. 8, ch. 13, βασιλεῖ πρὸς τοὺς βασιλευομένους φιλία ἐν ὑπεροχῇ εὐεργεσίας. Comp. note on Chrysost., περὶ ιἑρως, p. 452. So in 2Ma 4:2, Onias is said to be ὁ εὐεργέτης τῆς πόλεως-καλουνται) The Middle Voice (call themselves, or would have themselves called). They claim this title to themselves.
