Mat 23:10. Καθηγηταὶ, guides)[990] i.e leaders, authorities. There is a gradation in these phrases: Rabbi, Father, Guide. They were titles of spiritual eminence amongst the Jews. The same principle is enforced in 1Co 3:5-6.[991]
