V. “to men of low estate”]) Neuter, for the phrase high things precedes.-συναπαγόμενοι, being [suffering yourselves to be] carried along with) the verb has the force of the middle voice, by which voluntary συγκατάβασις, condescension, is denoted. The proud think, that he, who is humble, is led away, but it is a good thing to be led away in this manner; so it was with David.-μὴ γίνεσθε φρόνιμοι παρʼ ἑαυτοῖς) Pro 3:7, LXX, μὴ ἴσθι φρόνιμος παρὰ σεαυτῷ [comp. Rom 11:25.]
