Rom 14:20. Μὴ κατάλυε, do not destroy) The effects of even one sin may be distressing and important moreover, Rom 14:15.-ἓνεκεν βρώματος, on account of meat) a very small matter.-τὸ ἔργον τοῦ Θεοῦ, the work of God) a very great matter: the work, which God accomplishes within in the soul, by edification, and in the church by harmony [Faith is principally intended, Joh 6:29.-V. g.]-κακὸν, evil) the word to eat [is evil], is to be supplied from what follows: He does not say κακὰ, evils.-διὰ προσκόμματος, with offence) so that another may be offended by his eating.
