Rom 15:17. Καύχησιν, glorying) Paul had a large heart; so he says at Rom 15:15, more boldly, and Rom 15:20, “I have strived ambitiously,” φιλοτιμούμενον.-ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ, in Christ Jesus) This is explained in the following verse. My glorying with respect to those things, which pertain to God, has been made to rest [rests] in Christ Jesus.-τὰ πρὸς Θεὸν, in those things, which pertain to God) Paul makes this limitation; otherwise he was poor and an outcast in the world, 1Co 4:9, etc.
