9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.



Ver. 9. In this was manifested] The very naked bowels of his tenderest compassions are herein laid open unto us, as in an anatomy. God so loved his Son that he gave him the world for his possession, Psa_2:7; but he so loved the world that he gave Son and all for its redemption.
