1Sa_11:4 Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.

And all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.] This was to "weep with those that weep." {Rom_12:15} And if in addition they "turned again unto the Lord, that their" distressed "brethren might" the sooner "find compassion," as 2Ch_30:9, they did best of all. God, in such a case, "will restore comforts unto his mourners." {Isa_57:18}
