1Sa_20:15 But [also] thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.

Ver. 15. No, not when the Lord hath cut off,] i.e., When thou art in thy greatest power, and hast none to oppose thee. Jonathan looked upon David as his greatest under, - as king of Israel; so did the penitent thief upon Christ. {Luk_23:42}
