1Sa_9:9 (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for [he that is] now [called] a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)
Ver. 9. Beforetime in Israel.] Of old, Antiquitus. Such was the piety of the people in the purer times, as Gen_25:22.
Come, and let us go to the seer.] The man whose eyes are open to see God and his visions as clearly, and as certainly, as if he had seen them with his eyes. {1Pe_1:12}
