This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

Ver. 15. See that none render] Nothing is so natural to us; and Aristotle commends revenge as a piece of manhood, when indeed it is doghood rather. Excellently Lactantius, Non est minus mall referre iniuriam, quam inferre. It is as bad to recompense wrong as to do wrong. {See Trapp on "Mat_5:44"} {See Trapp on "Rom_12:17"}

But ever follow that which is good] Not to do good is to do evil; not to save a man when we can, is to destroy him, Mar_3:4. {See Trapp on "Mar_3:4"}
