11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.



Ver. 11. Must their wives be grave] As themselves must, 1Ti_3:6. Gravity is such an elixir, as by contaction (if there be any disposition of goodness in the same metal) it will render it of the property. So that deacons’ wives cannot be otherwise than grave and gracious, having such husbands as is above described.
