2Ch_13:12 And, behold, God himself [is] with us for [our] captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
Ver. 12. And, behold, God himself is with us.] Eðéöïñá , qua praecipua argumenta repetit: he is speaking his last to them, and therefore speaks thick.
For our captain.] Deus est dux; he is in the head of us, who is himself a whole army.
Fight ye not against the Lord.] A good motion, had it come from a better mouth.
