Ver. 13. I had no rest, &c.] Gr. áíåóéí , no relaxation, viz. from my former cares and anxieties about you, because he was not yet returned to tell me how it was with you, 2Co_7:6. God’s comforts are either rational, fetched from grounds which faith ministereth; or real, from the presence of comfortable persons or things.
