This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Ver. 16. I will dwell in them] Gr. åíïéêçóù åí áõôïéò , I will indwell in them. This notes God’s nearest communion with them. He setteth them before his face continually, Psa_41:12, as loving to look upon them. The philosopher told his friends, when they came into his little low cottage, The gods are here with me: åíôåõèåí ïõê áðåéóé èåïé . God and angels are with his saints.

And walk in them] As they did in Solomon’s porch, and other walks and galleries about the temple. And hereunto the prophet alludes, Zec_3:7. The Turks wonder to see a man walk to and fro, and usually ask such whether they be out of their way or out of their wits. (Biddulph.)
