4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,



Ver. 4. In much patience] Or tolerance, suffering hardship, as good soldiers of Jesus Christ.



In afflictions] Out of which there is little or no use of patience; at least she cannot have her perfect work, Jam_1:4.



In necessities] Want of necessaries.



In distresses] Such straits as that we are at a stand, and have not whither to turn us, óôåíï÷ùñéáéò ; we are in a little ease, as it were.
