2 For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.

Ver. 2. Was ready] To wit, in their resolutions; for the collection was not yet made.

And your zeal] i.e. Your liberal contribntion out of deep affection, and a holy emulation to exceed others in bounty.
