2Ki_14:1 In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
Ver. 1. In the second year, &c., ] viz., When he reigned alone, after his father’s death.
Reigned Amaziah.] A notorious hypocrite, and one that filled up the measure of his fathers. {Mat_23:32} Yet Salianus and some others say that he died a penitent and a reformed man.
