2Ki_18:7 And the LORD was with him; [and] he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
Ver. 7. And the Lord was with him.] The Lord is with all those that are with him. {2Ch_15:3 Ezr_8:22}
And he prospered.] Or, He dealt prudently.
And he rebelled against the king of Assyria.] That is, He cast off his yoke, and refused to stand to his father’s wicked covenant. This the Assyrian counted and called rebellion.
