This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

2Sa_18:10 And a certain man saw [it], and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.

Ver. 10. Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.] Which oak, by the just judgment of God, this new king had for a throne, his twisted hair for a crown. He shall shortly have three darts in his heart for a sceptre, and Joab’s ten armourbearers for a guard: but this in the text dared not meddle with him, because of the king’s command to the contrary. {2Sa_18:5}
