This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

2Sa_19:19 And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.

Ver. 19. Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me.] He justly feared punishment for those heinous outbursts of his intemperate tongue: and earnestly deprecateth it. Let us take unto us like words, and say unto God, "Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously, and love us freely." {Hos_14:2} This is to prevent fleeing to the caves, crying to the hills, tiring the deaf mountains with moans to no purpose.
