2Sa_24:25 And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
Ver. 25. And David built there an altar.] A type of Christ, the true altar, {Heb_13:10} who was also to offer up himself as a slain sacrifice at Jerusalem, "an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour." {Eph_5:2} To him be glory in the churches, world without end. Amen.
