20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.



Ver. 20. There are not only, &c.] Wonder not therefore, murmur not that there are a mixture of good and bad in God’s house. He knows how to serve himself of both, Rom_9:20-22. Neither be offended that some of great note fall away, as did Hymenaeus and Philetus. God hath his vessels of all sorts.
