25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;



Ver. 25. Neither is worshipped] Colitur vel delinitur, collogued with, or complimented. Colendi verbum áðï ôïõ êïëáêåõåéí , dictum volant eo quod plerunque Dei hominumque cultus cum adulatione et hypocrisi est coniunctus. Sic a ëáôñåõåéí , Gallicum flatter. Some derive the word here used, èåñáðåõù , of the Hebrew Taraph or Teraphim, idols or images, Gen_31:30; Jdg_17:5. God is not so worshipped. (Stuchius de Sacrif. Gentil.; Avenarius; Ainsworth.)
