20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.



Ver. 20. Works meet for repentance] Gr. "worthy of repentance," that weigh just as much as repentance doth. The Syriac hath it, works equal and even with repentance. {See Trapp on "Mat_3:8"}
