26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.



Ver. 26. They were all afraid of him] Openheartedness is an argument of folly, Fide, diffide. Our Saviour would not lightly commit himself to any, Joh_2:24. Try whom you mean to trust. Paul was somewhile a probationer ere he could be admitted.
