4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,



Ver. 4. And of the love, &c.] Faith in Christ Jesus maketh love to all the saints. Therefore they go commonly coupled in Paul’s Epistles. And therefore when the disciples heard how often they must forgive an offending brother, "Lord, increase our faith," say they, Luk_17:5. {See Trapp on "Luk_17:5"}
