17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:



Ver. 17. The helmet of salvation] Hope which holds head above water, and maketh the soul with outstretched neck expect deliverance, Rom_8:19, crying out not only, Dum spiro, spero, While living I hope, but Dum expiro, spero. While dying, I hope.
