Gen_12:5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

And Abram took Sarai his wife.] The faithful companion of all his travels and troubles - one that "did him good, and not evil all her days". {Pro_31:12} And although she suffered much hardship with him, and for his sake, and was oft put to it, yet she was "not afraid with any amazement," as many a woman would have been. {1Pe_3:6} A valiant woman she was, and no less violent than he for God’s kingdom, whereof Canaan was but a type.
