Gen_37:18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.
Ver. 18. They conspired against him.] So did the husbandmen against Christ: "This is the heir," say they, &c. {Luk_20:14} The word is by one rendered, They craftily conspired. The Greek hath it, malignantly: craft and cruelty go usually together in the Church’s adversaries. The devil lends them his seven heads to plot, and his ten horns to push poor Joseph, that dreads no danger.
