Gen_41:53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.

Ver. 53. And the seven years of plenteousness, &c.] All earthly felicities will determine; they are called "a sea of glass mingled with fire"; {Rev_15:2} that is, with affliction. Henry VI, that had been the most potent monarch for dominions that ever England had, was, when deposed, not the master of a molehill nor owner of his own liberty; so various are the changes and chances of this mortal life. {a}
