This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.

Ver. 23. Hid three months of his parents] That they hid him no longer argued weakness of their faith, which yet is both commended and rewarded.

He was a proper child] áóôåéïí , fair to God, Act_7:20, having a divine beauty and comeliness. Special endowments are a foretoken of special employment. The very heathen in choosing their kings had a special eye to bodily beauty. See 1Sa_10:23; 1Sa_16:19; 1Sa_17:42.

Not afraid of the king’s commandment] Because unjust and impious. {See Trapp on "Act_4:19"}
