Ver. 14: For we are made partakers] Christ’s consorts, co-heirs with him, Rom_8:17. This we are in present, if we persevere to the end.



The beginning of our confidence] Gr. õðïóôáóåùò , of our subsistence, or substance, that is, of our faith, Heb_11:1, whereby we subsist, and become sons of God, as Ambrose expounds it. The Greek signifieth the very first act of faith, whereby we began to subsist in Christ.
