Isa_55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap [their] hands.
Ver. 12. For ye shall go out with joy,] sc., Out of your spiritual bondage, worse than that of Babylon.
The mountains and the hills.] The mute and brute creatures, as they seem to groan together with the faithful, {Rom_8:21-22} so here, by a prosopopeia, they are brought in as congratulating and applauding their deliverance.
