Isa_59:6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works [are] works of iniquity, and the act of violence [is] in their hands.
Ver. 6. Their webs shall not become garments.] "Garments" quasi gardments; one use of them being to guard our bodies from the injury of wind and weather. Wicked devices and false doctrines profit not those that are therein occupied. {as Heb_13:9} In the day of God’s wrath, they will prove but as a coat of cobweb.
Their works are works of iniquity.] Here ministers may learn roundly to reprove the sins of the people.
