21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?



Ver. 21. Justified by works] sc. Declarative et in fore humano, but not before God, Rom_3:2. It is faith that justifieth the man; but they are works that justify faith to be right and real, saving and justifying.
