Jer_18:13 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.

The virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.] A "virgin" she is called, either by an irony, or else because she should have been a pure virgin, sincere in God’s service, but was nothing less. What this horrible thing was, see Jer_18:15 cf. Jer_2:13; Jer_2:32.
