Jer_50:7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.
Ver. 7. All that found them have devoured them.] As ravenous creatures do wandering sheep. Stragglers are a fit prey for seducers.
And their adversaries said, We offend not,] i.e., God will have it so; {Jer_40:2} but this was no good plea. {Jer_2:3}
The habitation of justice.] Or, In the habitation of justice; in a land of uprightness have they dealt unjustly, {Isa_26:10} which was no small aggravation of their sin.
Even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.] But these, as degenerate children, have no such hope.
