This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

Job_23:15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.

Ver. 15. Therefore am I troubled at his presence] At the consideration of his formidable power and majesty, I am troubled and terrified; troubled at my present calamities, and afraid of fiercer. This verse then seemeth to be a correction of that wish of his above, Job_23:3, and not unlike that, Job_13:21, "Withdraw thine hand far from me, and let not thy dread make me afraid. Then call thou, and I will answer," &c.

When I consider, I am afraid of him] I have always imagined that, as it were weakness to fear a man, so it were madness not to be afraid of God. Let me be accounted timorous rather than temerarious.
