6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
Ver. 6. But they understood not] So thick brained and incapable we are, till that vail be rent, Isa_25:7. Those that have a blemish in their eye, the more wishly they look into anything the less they see of it, as Vives hath it. So it is here. Lusciosi, si quando oculorum aciem intendunt, minus vident. (Vives in Aug. Civ. Dei. lxxxi. 6.)
