24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Ver. 24. In the resurrection] The Syriac hath it Benuchama, in the consolation. So the resurrection was ever to the disconsolate believers of both Testaments, Dan_12:2; Heb_11:35. In the primitive Church, when they repeated that article of the creed, "I believe the resurrection of the flesh," they would point to their bodies, and say, etiam huius carnis, even of this very flesh.
