10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.



Ver. 10. The words that I speak] Our Saviour allegeth for himself the Divinity both of his word and works. He was mighty, saith Peter, both in word and deed. Ministers also must, in their measure, be able to argue and approve themselves to be men of God, by sound doctrine and good life. And not be, as our Saviour saith the Pharisees were, and as Epictetus saith many philosophers were such, áíåõ ôïõ ðñáôôåéí, ìå÷ñé ôïõ ëåãåéí , that is, as far as a few words would go.
