26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:



Ver. 26. At that day ye shall ask, &c.] Christ had promised them further light, but yet expects they should pray for it. Prayer is a putting the promises in suit; we must pray them over ere we get the performance, Eze_36:37. Christ himself was to ask of his Father the world for his inheritance, &c., Psa_2:8;
