Ver. 41. Because of his own word] This is it alone that is the foundation of faith, and converts the soul, Psa_19:7. That of good wives winning their husbands, 1Pe_3:1, is meant by way of preparation only in general. And that of winning a soul by private admonition, Jam_5:20, is meant of persuading them to some good duty, or to receive some truth, or to forsake some one evil or error.
