Jos_24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
Ver. 20. And consume you, after that he hath done you good.] Ingentia beneficia, flagitia, supplicia. From apostates God will take away his own and be gone, {Hos_2:9} he will curse their blessings, {Mal_2:2} blast their hopes, make them know the worth of his benefits by the want of them, making them cry out, as Jer_4:13, "Woe to us! for we are spoiled."
