This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

Lev_13:45 And the leper in whom the plague [is], his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

Ver. 45. His clothes shall be rent.] To show his sorrow for sin, the cause of his calamity.

] That men might not mistake him; and further to show his humility, whereof this also was a ceremony.

A covering upon his upper lip.
] His moustaches that by his breath he might not infect others: and to show that God will not hear a good motion from an ill mouth.
