Lev_16:31 It [shall be] a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
Ver. 31. It shall be a Sabbath of rest.] An exact and careful rest, such as is described in Isa_58:13, which place of the prophet some understand of this day of atonement, and yearly fast, spoken of in the beginning of that chapter.
